Course Outline: 

This course has been designed to enable participants to understand the requirements for the safe handling and loading of chemicals. 

• Introduction to the definition of hazardous materials and classification of chemicals.
• Hazards of handling chemicals and other harmful substances as well as the use of  material safety data sheets.
• Precautions and the safe handling of hazardous materials including chemicals.
• Loading of hazardous material.
• Personal Safety.

WORKSHOP STYLE: 

A mixture of short presentations, interactive discussion, individual exercises and group work. The emphasis throughout is on a practical approach using case material and examples.
